WE DO F*CKING COOL SH*T — THAT’S OUR MOTTO.

MEET THE FOLKS WHO MAKE IT POSSIBLE.

Our Story

In 2012, our co-founder Adam Diskin moved to Nashville from the Pacific Northwest where he searched far and wide to get his hands on a similar true cider experience that he was familiar with in Washington, Canada and England. After years of searching with no luck, he felt it was time to finally start his own. He connected with his friend Todd Evans to begin their journey in building Nashville’s first and only craft cidery. Not only did they want to bring true craft cider to Tennessee and the South, but they focused on making cider the traditional way by crafting cider solely using fresh pressed apples to break the mold of overly sweet cider. This fueled their fire to share what authentic cider tastes like with the community. Adam and Todd studied under an English Cider Master to learn to make cider the way it’s been made for centuries. Part of this tradition is how friends and family would gather together and drink cider in their neighbor’s barns while looking up at the stars. If you’re ever able to come to the cidery, you’ll find that our architecture has wooden planks in the ceiling and hanging pendant lights, which was purposefully made to emulate the barn tradition in hopes that each one of you feel at home in our space. Thank you for joining us in our journey and we can't wait to continue to share our passion with you!

MEET THE TEAM

Operations

  • ADAM DISKIN

    CO-FOUNDER

After years as a rocket scientist and looking for cures in nuclear medicine, Adam decided it was time for something challenging. Thus Diskin Cider was born (years of underage cider drinking didn’t hurt either). The desire to bring all-natural, fresh, approachable, traditionally made cider to the South took Adam to Washington State and England. While training under an English cider master, Adam learned cider was as much about community and celebrating friends as it was about great-tasting cider made only from fresh-pressed apples. It was time to take the same recipes started in the garage into our urban barn-centered cidery. Adam is excited to share and celebrate together.

  • TODD EVANS

    CO-FOUNDER

Born and raised in Nasvhille, TN with a conical horn on the top of his head, Todd Evans is a unicorn in more ways than one. After getting his horn removed to better fit in with everyday society, he graduated from Columbia College. He then went to work for Marriott Corporation in various positions, living up and down the East Coast. Once back in Nashville, Todd took over as the Executive Director of a local non-profit for twelve years. During that time, he was introduced to Adam Diskin. After hitting it off, Adam invited him to learn how to make hard cider. Not too long after, they set to work on Diskin Cider and opened its doors in May of 2018.

  • KYLIE OCHSENREITER

    CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

After graduating from the University of Florida and years in the construction management industry, Kylie joined our team in 2020 to take over the operations of the cidery with her get-shit-done attitude. With a job description of “everything,” she makes sure all fires get put out, our bills get paid, and that the Local AF tastes just right.

Certified Cider Maker (Cider Institute of North America); Certified Cider Professional (American Cider Association)

  • KENDALL ECKHARDT

    DESIGN & MARKETING COORDINATOR

After graduating with her BFA in Graphic Design, Kendall set out with one goal: find a job that makes her excited. Due to her impeccable humor and impressive portfolio, she landed her spot at Diskin. You will often find her zoomed into the pixel, scheduling content, and running all things social media while listening to Post Malone.

  • HAYLEE SALYER

    EVENT COORDINATOR

From the Great Lakes to The Music City, Haylee has perfected the art of turning ordinary gatherings into unforgettable experiences. She has a degree in Recreation Event Management from Central Michigan University and a plethora of experience in planning anything from half marathons to weddings. She'll have your guests laughing, dancing, and cider-drinking their way to a good time faster than you can say “cheers!”

When she's not busy juggling event logistics like a pro, you can catch Haylee sipping cider while taking her dog to the park!

  • SAM STEPHENS

    TERRITORY SALES MANAGER

Raised just outside of Nashville, Sam Stephens aimed his ambitions higher than just growing up in the same town as Miley Cyrus. After dropping out of Bible college, Sam gave his best try at making a living playing heavy metal. Eventually, Sam put aside his terrible music and got a job bartending where he developed his knowledge and love of the beverage industry. He’s led a handful of cocktail programs across the city until he turned his attention to retail liquor sales. Nowadays Sam lives, laughs, and loves as a basic Millennial Dad. Armed with a passion for the industry, he's ready to slay and sling some cider!
